3.31.25 – Contract Implementation Update #21: “Self-Book” Deadhead Implemented April 1, 2025

You will now have the option to change your scheduled deadhead to an alternate deadhead on the first or last leg of your sequence using the Self-Book deadhead feature in Crew Portal. Click on ‘DH’ to begin the self-book process

3.30.25 – Contract Implementation Update #20: “Stand Up” Deadhead Implemented April 1, 2025

CBA Section 16.L will be implemented on April 1st, 2025, and is a new provision allowing the Company to reschedule a deadheading Flight Attendant (after sequence report and prior to release of the last working leg of the sequence) to work their scheduled deadhead

3.26.25 – Special APFA Executive Committee Meeting: March 25, 2025

Yesterday, the APFA Executive Committee (EC) held a Special EC Meeting to confirm a new Regional Representative for position #4- MIA. This position was previously held by Mark Gentile, who passed unexpectedly in February.

3.26.25 – 2025 APFA Annual Board of Directors Convention Final Agenda

This morning, APFA National President Julie Hedrick called to order the 2025 APFA Annual Board of Directors Convention at the Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. The assembly approved the final agenda, which you may view here.

3.26.25 – Contract Implementation Update #19: New Sit Rig Implemented April 1st, 2025

On April 1st, 2025, Sit Rig (CBA section 11.D.6) will be implemented. Sit Rig provides one (1) minute of flight pay for every two (2) minutes of sit time beyond the first two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes of sit time.

3.23.25 – Julie Su Joins APFA at Annual Board of Directors Convention

The APFA Annual Board of Directors Convention will be held March 26-27, 2025, at the Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. All members in good standing are invited to attend the open portions of the meeting

3.21.25 – Deadline to Submit 2024 FSA Claims Is March 31

The deadline to submit claims for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) expenses incurred during the 2024 plan year (from January 1 to December 31) is March 31.

3.21.25 – Contract Implementation Update #18: Boarding Pay Begins April 1, 2025

One of our most requested contractual items is finally here—an achievement that wouldn’t have been possible without 28,000 Flight Attendants standing together in solidarity!

3.18.25 – Coverage Needed (CN) Dates – April 2025

Coverage Needed (CN) is a term applied to any day in a bid month when not enough Flight Attendants bid in PBS to fly on that day. PBS will award as many Flight Attendants as possible to be off on a particular day.

3.14.25 – 2025 Base Representative Elections Results

Today, March 14, 2025, the APFA National Ballot Committee, along with our partners at YesElections, certified the results of the 2025 APFA Base Representative Elections.

3.14.25 – Contract Implementation Update #17: Specific Red Flag Bidding in TTS and UBL

Specific Red Flag Bidding in TTS and UBL will be implemented early, beginning on March 18th, 2025. In addition to current Red Flag generic bidding already in effect, you will now have the option to bid for Red Flag Only on specific sequences in TTS and UBL (CBA 10.H.8).

3.13.25 – Vacation MRB, Filler Day Bid, VEX Day, and Vacation ETB Timelines for May Bid Month

The 2025-26 Annual Vacation Bid Award is now final. To view your award details, go to Crew Portal > Monthly Bids > Vacation > Annual > Summary > Show Detail. Your awarded vacation days are also viewable in FOS/DECS under HI10.

3.10.25 – Voter Eligibility Deadline Is Today!

For your vote to count, you must be a member in good standing (no more than 60 days in dues arrears) by today, Monday, March 10, 2025, at 5:00 pm (CT). You may check your dues status and manage payments by logging into the APFA.org website

3.09.25 – Secondary Round of 2025-26 Vacation Bidding Closes Tomorrow

The Secondary Round of vacation bidding closes tomorrow, Monday, March 10 at 12 PM (CT). The Secondary Round allows you to bid for any remaining vacation days not awarded in the Primary Round of vacation bidding.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts for most of the U.S. tomorrow, Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 AM local time. U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) introduced the Sunshine Protection Act of 2025 (S.29) in January.

One month has passed since the implementation of the revised descent procedures, and we wanted to take a moment to revisit why these changes were made and why they remain so important. These procedures were not created simply to change the way we work.

7.10.26 – CMAP Expands to DFW and ORD on July 12th

The Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Crewmember Access Point (CMAP) program will continue its phased rollout beginning the week of July 12th, with DFW and ORD joining the growing list of participating airports.

7.08.26 – ROTA/ROTD Acknowledgement Receipts in ECS

We continue to receive reports of reserve acknowledgement issues. In some cases, Reserve Flight Attendants are properly acknowledging assignments in Crew Portal, but are later assessed a missed trip because the acknowledgement was not successfully recorded.

7.07.26 – NASEM: Flight Crewmember Radiation Exposure Requires FAA Action

A new congressionally mandated report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) confirms what APFA Flight Attendants have long known: radiation exposure is an occupational hazard that deserves stronger oversight and protection.
